Comparison with the frame

Frame technology has the only similar parameter with SIP technology – it is the speed of building construction. Otherwise, there are a number of nuances that significantly affect the quality of the house:

  1. The density of the insulation can be different, so the energy efficiency of your walls and roof directly depends on the integrity of the contractor.
  2. Mineral wool, which is most often used in frame technology, tends to sag over the years, thereby forming bridges of cold around the perimeter of your house, it is also very sensitive to moisture, wet wool is not a heater – in contrast, the heater that we use does not change its geometry and thermal insulation properties over the years.
  3. In frame houses, the load-bearing element is only the frame, at the same time, in the SIP technology, both the beam (the same frame in essence) and the panels are considered load-bearing.
  4. Therefore, when operating a house, a house made of SIPs has a number of advantages, starting with the absence of restrictions on wall and roof decoration (withstands more vertical load), and on hanging cabinets, TVs, etc.
Comparison with the frame

A house made of SIP panels belongs to the 3rd category of fire safety (which does not support combustion). OSB does not burn, it smokes in direct contact with fire. Styrofoam does not burn at all, it twists.

Mice do not live inside SIP panels, because the SIP panel itself is not an organic product for their use. In order to get to polystyrene foam (in which, according to many, mice live in it), she needs to gnaw through the facade of the house and a beam impregnated with fire-bio protection.

The sound insulation of a house made of SIP panels with external and internal decoration is the same as that of a house built according to any other traditional technology. Sounds up to 60 dB cannot be heard in the room (the norm according to DBN is 55 dB for residential premises).
